• Rio Summer Olympics 2016 on KBS

  • The 2016 Rio Olympics Coverage Team was launched on July 6. The team will cover the Games, and air live programs from RIo 13 hours a day.

  • Lee Young-pyo, a former English premiere leauge player, is a KBS football commentator.

  • Yeo Hong-cheol won the first ever silver medal for Korea at the 1996 Summer Olympics in the category of vault. He will cover men's gymnastics for the Rio Games.

  • Kim Yoon-hee is a KBS commentaor for rhythmic gymnastics. She took part in a number of international competition and won the silver medal at the 2014 Asian Games.

  • KBS has announced this year’s Rio Summer Olympics Coverage Team on 10 July at the Seoul Headquarters. At the announcement, KBS President & CEO Ko Dae-young emphasized that KBS should strive to be an eye and ear for the audience, bringing high quality, in-depth Olympics coverage. A total of one hundred and twenty KBS staff members will join the coverage team to Rio Brazil including thirty one sports commentators, to air 13 hours of live programs a day. Also, KBS TV1 will cover sporting action of less-popular games for the viewer’s right of choice. Throughout the Games, the audience can access information, commentaries, and the background stories via social media services such as Facebook. The Games will kick off on 5 August, in which 10,000 or so athletes from 206 countries compete for the medals, striving for athletic excellence.
