  • KBS has signed a new mutual news exchange partnership with American Broadcasting Companies, Inc., one of the most influential broadcasters in the United States, to share video, news content, and other newsgathering resources in the two countries.


    ABC News delegation headed by Managing Editor for International Coverage Marcus Wilford visited KBS Headquarters on September 21, 2017 to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on mutual news exchange between the two organizations.  


    The new deal will enable both organizations to significantly enhance the global reporting capabilities of complex international situations such as the tensions between North Korea and the U.S., said Marcus Wilford, Managing Editor for International Coverage of ABC News.


    As part of the agreement, KBS and ABC News also agreed to co-operate in providing live coverage of major news events and allow to air full news programs.


    KBS President & CEO Ko Dae-young welcomed the new partnership with ABC News and said he’s looking forward to working with ABC News to bring his audiences international news that is reliable and original.

    Sharing of news content between KBS and ABC News will begin immediately.  

    After the MOU signing ceremony, the ABC delegation visited KBS News Center to begin discussing on establishing technical, audio-video connections to facilitate the movement of live and archived video for the agreed news content exchange.
