  • Ryoo Shi-won Tops Japanese Oricon Chart
  • [2005-04-14]
  • Singer/actor Ryoo Shi-won`s new single `Sakura,` which was released in Japan on April 13, reached the top of the Japanese daily Oricon chart on the day of its release. Sakura drew great attention by ranking first on the preliminary sales chart of the largest Japanese music record chain HMV, even before the official announcement was made.

Ryoo`s popularity soared in Japan since the drama `Beautiful Days,` in which he plays a lead role, debuted on NHK. His song `Promise,` which was produced Maeda, by a member of the Japanese group `Tube,` took the eighth spot on the weekly Oricon chart in December of last year.

As of April 13, BoA`s `Do the Motion` and K`s `Over??` tied for 19th on the daily Oricon chart in the single category.
