`S Diary,` starring Kim Sun-ah, was released Oct. 22, luring 185,000 movie-goers in Seoul and 600,000 viewers nationwide (58 screens in Seoul, 240 screens nationwide) over three days -- Oct. 22 (Fri), 23 (Sat) and 24 (Sun). The movie topped the box office in the fourth week of October, which was quite expected as it recorded the booking rate of 40 percent during the same week in various booking scores, and topped on-the-spot sales as well, luring 150,000 people on Oct. 22, 240,000 on Oct. 23 and 210,000 on Oct. 24. `S Diary` also recorded twice as high a score as the movie that took the second spot.
After surpassing `Our Brother,` `Some,` `Before
Sunset` and `21 Grams,` all of which topped the box office for two straight
weeks, `S Diary` was shown over the weekend in
Seoul and Gyeonggi areas to thank the
audience for its ardent support. The plot of this movie revolts around the bizarre
idea of finding an ex-boyfriend and sending him a bill. A warm story about love
and cherished memories and the impressive acting of Kim Sun-ah, Kim Su-ro, Lee
Hyun-woo and Kong Yoo add more charm to the movie. `S Diary,` which is
especially popular among female viewers, topped the box office from the very
first week since its release, and is now girding itself for defeating `The
Scarlet Letter,` which has been on everybody`s mouth, next week. The cast of `S
Diary` will make a nationwide tour next weekend to meet with viewers in the
