  • `Old Boy` Nominated for 11 Categories of Korean Film Award

  • `Old Boy` has been nominated for 11 categories of the 3rd Korean Film Award. According to the list of nominated movies announced by the Film Award secretariat Nov. 6, `Old Boy` has been nominated for the Best Movie Award, Best Director Award (Park Chan-ok), Best Lead Actor Award (Choi Min-sik), Best Lead Actress Award (Kang Hye-jeong), Best Supporting Actress Award (Yoon Jin-seo), and Best Cinematography Award (Jeong Jeong-hoon), among others. `Something In The Way She Moves Attracts Me Like Noother Lover(A beautiful woman without a face)` by director Kim In-sik has been nominated for eight categories, including the Best Lead Actress Award (Kim Hye-soo,) Best Art Direction Award (Yoon Ju-hoon) and Best Filming Award (Kim Woo-hyung), while `Mermaid` is likely to receive awards in eight categories as well, including Best Writing (Song Hye-jin, Park Heung-sik), Best Lead Actor (Park Hae-il) and Best Lead Actress (Jeon Do-yeon). Meanwhile, `Taegukgi` and `Silmido,` which recorded 10 million viewers, were only nominated for four categories each (visual effects, sound, editing and cinematography) and the Best Lead Actor. It is noteworthy that `The Road Taken` and `Repatriation,` a documentary, were both nominated for the Best Production Award to compete with `Old Boy,` `3-Iron,` and `Spirit Of Jeet Keun Do.` Actor Choi Min-sik has been nominated for the Best Lead Actor Award for `Old Boy` and `Springtime,` while music director Cho Seong-woo has been nominated for the Best Music Director Award for `Springtime` and `Mermaid.`
