The South Korean movie "Everybody Has A Secret," starring Lee Byung-heon
and Choi Ji-woo, which is to open in Japan Nov. 27, is likely to become
a huge hit as 30,000 tickets have already been booked as of Nov. 25.
The
movie is expected to enjoy as much popularity as "The Scandal,"
starring Bae Yong-jun, which was shown in Japan May 22. The Japanese press
predicts that "Everybody Has A Secret" will record the highest
score for a Korean movie to be ever shown in Japan, and as many as 40,000
tickets will be sold by the premiere day.
Japanese sports newspapers also projected an unprecedented feat for `Everybody
Has A Secret` Nov. 26, saying that more tickets are expected to be booked
for the movie than for `The Scandal.` `So far, `Swiri` was the most profitable
Korean movie in Japan, recording 1.8 billion yen, while `The Scandal`
featuring Yonsama Bae Yong-jun fell short of expectations, recording only
800 million yen. `Everybody Has A Secret` stands a good chance of breaking
the record,` said a person close to Doei Entertainment, the company in
charge of the movie`s distribution in Japan.
