Lee`s album ranked first in sales only hours after it went on sale online, and topped various music charts, including Hot Track, Sanga Record, YES24 and Phono, after just three days. Orders for the album soared after one of Lee`s new songs was released online. Lee`s agency, Likud Entertainment, says it had to produce 100,000 more copies of the album due to skyrocketing orders. The agency initially planned to release 200,000 copies, but album manufacturers were reluctant to accept the order, as the recent trend among the majority of artists is to place initial orders of only 20,000 to 30,000 copies of their albums due to the economic slump. The explosive popularity of Lee`s album also resulted in attempts to illegally download Lee`s new songs online. But the singer`s agency made sure to block all illegal music downloading Web sites on the Internet prior to disclosing Lee`s album online, and minimized the illicit distribution of the album`s authentic copies. Likud Entertainment says the singer`s fans also contributed greatly to preventing any illicit distribution of the album by alerting the agency of any suspicious files on the Internet. Lee will hold autograph-signing events on Jan. 21 at 3 p.m. at Shinnara record in Sinchon and at 6:30 p.m. at the Evan record store in COEX, Samsung-dong, and on Jan. 22 at Kyobo Books in Gangnam and Home Plus in Deungchon-dong, Seoul. |
