Actress Lee Young-ae showed off a totally new image in her latest movie `Sympathy for Lady Vengeance.` So far, Lee's image as commonly portrayed in her movie posters has been one of a naive-looking woman with long straight hair and no makeup whatsoever. But the way Lee`s character in the film, `Keum-ja,` looks after she finishes 13 years of military service is completely different from Lee's previous image. In the story, Keum-ja is a fearsome character driven by revenge after being discharged from the army. `Sympathy for Lady Vengeance,` which was filmed from Dec. 1 in Seoul, Busan, Gangwon Province and even Australia, wrapped up production on April 28. The movie`s final scene, which was filmed in Australia during April 19-25, has drawn much attention as it was filmed in secret and will remain undisclosed until the movie hits theaters, much like the final scene of the hit movie `Old Boy,` which was filmed in New Zealand. `Sympathy for Lady Vengeance,` the final chapter in director Park Chan-uk`s three-part `vengeance` series, has come into the spotlight for starring top stars and some 40 supporting actors. The movie opens in July. |
