Jang Woo-hyuk, a former member of the group H.O.T., threw a grandiose birthday party for himself on May 8 that was attended by over 3,000 fans ahead of the release of his new solo album. Jang, who turned 28, held his party from 3:30 p.m. at the Olympic Weightlifting Stadium in Bandi-dong, Seoul, under the theme `I am Going to Meet You Now.` Hosted by comedian Lee Jae-hoon, the party started with a congratulatory performance by Tak Jae-hoon, also known as `S. Papa,` and lasted for about two hours amidst the jubilation of Jang`s fans. At the party, Jang cut his birthday cake and expressed his appreciation for presents brought by fans. This year thee most notable present was a large scooter, which Jang test-rode onstage. Last year, he had received a luxury car for his birthday. As the party drew to a close, Jang said he was inspired by this opportunity to meet with his fans ahead of the release of his first solo album due out in July, and informed his fans of his future plans. Jang said he will make inroads into Japan and Taiwan after debuting as a solo artist in Korea. |
