  • [2010-11-17]
  • "We will keep today’s memory of our time with you deep inside our hearts and recollect this precious memory whenever we miss you.” -Kim Jong Jin

The popular band Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, which was formed in 1986, held their first solo concert at Akasaka BRITZ in Tokyo, Japan on November 14, and they showcased their hit songs such as “Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter,” ”Taking Out A Diary Written Ten Years Ago,” ”My Own Way,” ”Everyone Might Be Changed,” and ”I Can Walk Alone Even Though I Am Lonely.” A vocalist in the band, Kim Jong Jin, said, “Our band is celebrating our 25th anniversary this year, and we finally met you in Japan 25 years after our debut. Shall we get along from now on? Today, we will present our best songs that particularly received the most favorable responses from people while we performed over the last 25 years. I just want you to open your hearts and enjoy listening to our songs.” The band also introduced the late singer Kim Hyun Sik’s song, “Lonely Afternoon” and singer Lee Jang Hee’s song, “Memory in a Glass.” While they presented these songs, fans in the audience all stood up from their seats and sang along together.

In particular, when a leader of the popular vocal group TMax, Shin Min Chul, appeared on the stage and sang the songs “Seventeen and Twenty Four” and “Bravo My Life” together, the hall was filled with excitement. Kim Jong Jin said, “We will keep today’s memory of our time with you deep inside our hearts and recollect this precious memory whenever we miss you,” and sang the song “Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter” as an encore. Kim Jong Jin and Jeon Tae Kwan signed their autographs for and gave appreciation to every fan and promised that they would come to Japan again.

In the press conference held before the concert, Kim Jong Jin said, “I have wanted to come to Japan from the time when I began performing music. I feel sorry that I could not come to Japan until this late, but anyway I am very happy that I finally came to Japan. In addition, in this situation where the interest in Korean pop music has risen, I feel great about having this opportunity to inform people there are many legitimate good musicians with excellent ability in Korea, and they are actually the source of the current popularity of Korean pop music. If we compare idol stars to a ‘budding flower,’ we are ‘full-bloomed flowers.’ Our junior singers respect us, maybe because they want to keep their first resolution and they believe that they will continue to keep doing their best in the future like us.” Jeon Tae Kwan also said, “Our band could stay together for this long because we have always tried new things and maintained our band for the last 25 years without changes.”
