Singer Kim Beom-soo, 26, has been named the spokesperson for fighting narcotics by the Hawaiian state government, according to Kim`s agency Team Entertainment on Oct. 16. Kim will receive his appointment certificate from Linda Lingle, the governor of Hawaii, on Oct. 31 at the Hawaiian state government headquarters. Sources say that Kim`s popularity has soared recently in Hawaii for his songs featured in popular Korean TV dramas, such as `Emperor of the Sea,` `A Staircase to Heaven` and `Damo,` which helped contribute to his appointment as a spokesperson for uprooting drug use. Prior to his appointment, Kim will give a concert in Hawaii on Oct. 30 to raise funds for fighting narcotics. Guest performers will include singers Lee Ye-rin and Lee Hyun-seop. Kim will leave for Hawaii on Oct. 27 and will return on Nov. 4. |
