  • Deulgukhwa Announce Posthumous Album of Drummer Chu Chan-kwon

  •  Band Deulgukhwa will announce a new album "Deulgukhwa" on Dec. 6, which will be a posthumous work for the late drummer Chu Chang-kwon, who died last month.

     
    According to the Deulgukhwa company, the band’s agency, on Nov.25,  the band’s original members - Jeon In-kwon (vocal), Choi Song-won (bass) and Chu Chan-kwon - reunited 27 years after they announced the first album "Deulgukhaw" to produce the new album. They named the new album Deulgukhwa, like the first album, because it revives the musical color of the band.
     
    The new album consists of 2 CDs and contain 19 songs, including previous hits and new songs. The band will release "Walk and walk", one of the songs from the album, on Dec.3 prior to release of the album.
     
    Deukgukhwa became one of Korea's best known bands when they announced the first album "Deulgukhwa" and the second, "You & I", the following year. They produced hits such as "Parade", "That’s only my world" and "Please" and achieved legendary status in the Korean music world. Their debut album was place first on 100 best Korean pop albums from 1998 to 2012, as picked by music specialists.
     
    Deulgukhwa Company said, "On the new album, vocalist Jeon In-kwon’s sharp sound, Choi Song-kwon’s delicate and emotional playing and vocals and Chu Chan-kwon’s drumming combined to produce a excellent harmony as they did 27 years ago."
