  • Billboards celebrates TVXQ’s 10th Anniversary
  • [2014-01-20]

  • A weekly American magazine Billboards honors what TVXQ means to a global music industry and its decade career.

An article, titled “Happy 10th Anniversary, TVXQ! 10 Shining Moments in the K-Pop Icons' Career” was posted in K-TOWN, a K-pop column section.

“K-pop phenom TVXQ! celebrating a decade in the K-pop scene is cause for celebration not only in its native South Korea, but also around the world,” said the U.S. music website on Jan 15(U.S. Eastern time).

“Since its late 2003 debut, the male act has pushed the boundaries of what it means to be a global Korean act. A mere 10 years later, TVXQ! is K-pop royalty. While many idol acts struggle to make it to the five-year benchmark, TVXQ! continues to break records and stay a step ahead of the pack,” the magazine added.

Also, Billboards described the 10 memorable moments in the boy band's career: ‘TVXQ! Breaks Through’, ‘World Record for Largest Fan Club’, ‘Fourth LP “Mirotic” Is Sweeping Success’, ‘First Foreign Artist to Perform on “Kohaku Uta Gassen”’, ‘Tokyo Dome Tour’, ‘Strong Return as a Duo’, ‘First Foreign Artist at Nissan Stadium’, ‘Headline Billboard’s K-Pop Masters Concert’, ‘First Solo Concert in LA’, ‘Decade Anniversary Concert in Korea’.

The magazine defined “Tense”, its new seventh full-length Korean LP(released Jan. 6 by S.M. Entertainment) as “an album sure to delight Cassies in addition to Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars and R&B fans.”

Meanwhile, the duo’s title track ‘Something’ ranked first place on Korean pop music TV program, M Countdown chart on Jan 16.
