  • K-pop idol G-dragon in Bigbang has come under the spotlight of American popular magazine “Hollywood Reporter”, according to the announcement by YG Entertainment on Thursday.

A sister magazine of Billboard, Hollywood Reporter magazine introduced the 25-year-old singer in a special feature ‘Pop Goes the World’, the upcoming issue on January 31 as one of the nine worldwide influential pop stars who represent different countries outside America, the birthplace of pop music.

The article also mentioned Avril Lavigne from Canada, Ellie Goulding from the U.K., and Lorde from New Zealand.

Hollywood Reporter focused on this rapper and producer’s global influence and  music career. The magazine mentioned, “G-dragon’s position in K-pop is comparable to that of two famous artists, Justin Timberlake and Kanye West in the Western pop world,” and “He’s influence has gone far beyond Asia.”

The magazine continued to say “G-dragon has achieved a great success not only as a member of BigBang but also as a solo artist and that Bigbang attracted 800,000 fans in 2012 world tour worldwide.”

Meanwhile, G-dragon is meeting fans on the stage of “2014 BIGBANG +α in SEOUL” concert on January 24 to 26 at Olympic Gymnastics Hall in Seoul.
