  • Seohyun stars in ‘The Moon that Embraces the Sun’

  • “I’ve always dreamed of being a musical actress and now my dream has come true!”

     
    Seohyun, a member of Korean girl band Girls’ Generation stated her impression at the press conference after musical 'The Moon that Embraces the Sun' held at the Seoul Arts Center CJ Towol Theater in Seoul on January 20.
     
    Seohyun needs to act two features of Yeon Woo as a grown-up and a child which is eight years before Yeon Woo becoming crown princess.   
     
    Also, Kyuhyun a member of K-pop idol Super Junior, takes a role of King Lee Hwon, who is missing Yeon Woo.
     
    “This character Lee Hwon is different from other characters that I’ve been through since he is a bright character, but also the king who rules the country,” and “A lot of pressure is on me, so I’ll work even harder. I’m not sure the audience have felt that during the show,” he added.
     
    Kyuhyun will share the role of Lee Hwon with musical actor Kim Da Hyun and Jeon Dong Seok. Seohyun will be sharing the role of Yeon Woo with former CSJH the Grace member Lina and musical actress Jung Jae Eun.
     
    Actor Kang Pil Suk and Jo Hwee will play as Yang Myung, Lee Hwon’s half brother, who has an affection for Yeon Woo.
     
    'The Moon that Embraces the Sun' is based on the best-selling novel with the same title. Then it was adapted into a TV drama starring Kim Su-hyun and Han Ga-in, recording over 40 percent in viewer ratings, a mega hit.
     
    'The Moon that Embraces the Sun' was first introduced as a musical in June 2013 and restarts as a newly cast production after a half-year.
     
    The star-studded musical will run at the Seoul Arts Center CJ Towol Theater until Feb 23.
