  • Shinhwa Thrills Japanese Fans with First Performance in Four Years
  • [2012-06-04]
  • The legendary Korean idol group, Shinhwa, completed their ‘2012 Shinhwa Grand Tour: The Return‘ concert in Yokohama with much success.

The concert was held over two days from May 29th through 30th at the Yokohama Arena. The group performed a number of their hit tracks such as "T.O.P“, “Wild Eyes“, “Perfect Man“, “Eusha Eusha“, “Wedding“, and “Brand New“. Shinhwa, who made a comeback with their tenth album ‘The Return‘ this past March, performed their new songs “Venus” and “Hurts“, while Japanese fans sang along with them, enjoying their first reunion in four years.

On stage, Minwoo stated, “In Korea, we film ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ each week and we have a great time together filming with a variety of concepts. I think it’s great that you can see us on TV once a week, instead of having to wait for us to perform at concerts." He added, "I promise we'll return next year with another great album and performances.”

Shinhwa then heated up the stage with their energetic encore performances of “Yo” and “Oh“.

After the concert, Dongwan shared, "We will adopt a beginner's attitude and continue to give our best efforts while being by your side," while Minwoo added, "To everyone who has touched us emotionally and loved Shinhwa, your presence is a significant gift to us. You are the world's best fans." Lastly, Eric commented, "Like the friendship between Shinhwa members, I hope the friendship between you and us never changes."

Shinhwa will continue their Asia tour in Kobe, Japan on June 2nd and a recap of the Yokohama and Kobe performances will be aired through a special broadcast on M.Net Japan on August 18th. [Yonhap]
