  • Big Bang Becomes First Korean Group to Tour Japan’s Major Domed Stadiums
  • [2012-09-12]
  • Big Bang has become the first Korean musicians to hold concerts in Japan’s three major domed stadiums.

According to their management, YG Entertainment, Big Bang will hold concerts at Osaka’s Kyocera Dome from November 23-24, the Tokyo Dome on December 5th and Fukuoka’s Yahoo! Japan Dome on December 22nd. YG said the concerts are a part of the group’s world tour, adding that only the Osaka and Tokyo concerts were planned originally but the Fukuoka show was added reflecting the group’s popularity in Japan.

Domed stadiums usually seat 40,000 to 50,000 people, so even Japan’s biggest stars are hesitant about holding concerts there. However, industry officials are saying that Big Bang’s dome tour proves their selling power in Japan.

Earlier this year, Big Bang toured five Japanese cities attracting over 150,000 fans to the 13 performances. If you include the group’s upcoming dome concerts, over 355,000 people will have seen their shows in Japan.[Yonhap]
