  • G-Dragon Enchants 50,000 Fans in World Tour Concert in Japan
  • [2013-04-09]
  • Big Bang's G-Dragon (real name Kwon Ji-yong, 25)’s first world tour concert in Japan was a big success, YG Entertainment, G-Dragon’s agency, declared on April 7.

G-Dragon performed before an audience of 50,000 on April 6 at the Yahoo! Fukuoka Dome as part of his first solo world tour, 'One of a Kind.'

G-Dragon opened the show with his hit single, 'MichiGO', sang other hits such as “Heartbreaker”, “One of a kind”,  “Shine a light” and “That XX”.

Taeyang, a member of Big Bang, appeared as a guest and sang his solo song “Break down”.  He appeared again as part of the encore and sang Big Bang’s hit “Bad boy” together with G-Dragon.

A representative of YG Entertainment said, “Fans swarmed to the concert, braving the wind and rain. The Dome roared with fans’ cheers throughout the entire concert, which began with an opening video of a thrilling car chase.”

G-Dragon’s world tour, which comprises 26 concerts and will call at 13 cities in eight countries, received a rave review from US Billboard.

Billboard covered G-Dragon's Seoul concert, which kicked off the world tour on March 30 and March 31 and praised it as a 'Michael Jackson-level affair'.

Billboard highly praised the concert for its eye-popping props, numerous outfit changes (confirming G-Dragon's reputation as a fashionista), multiple LED screens flashing video visuals, dazzling laser lights and newly remixed version of hit songs.

G-Dragon will continue his Japan tour following Fukuoka concert with concerts in Saitama Seibu Dome on April 20 and 21, Osaka Kyosera Dome on April 27 through April 29 and Nogoya Dome on June 1 and 2.

G-Dragon will participate as a guest in Psy’s upcoming concert “Happening” due at Seoul World Cup Stadium in Songsan-dong, Mapo-gu, on April 13. [Yonhap]
