  • Band CN Blue has been appointed as Goodwill Ambassadors for the Korea Food for the Hungry International (KFHI), an international relief organization for the hungry, FNC Entertainment, the group’s agency announced on May 8.

CN Blue participated in the appointment ceremony held at the Film Forum in Seodaemungu, western Seoul, and expressed their determination to do their best as goodwill ambassadors in charge of FHI's educational projects.

The members jointly said, “Firstly, our job is to help others, but we soon felt that we too are being helped. We want to be involved in charitable works more than ever.”

CN Blue have acted as goodwill ambassadors for “Hantolnanum Festival”, a youth volunteer festival being organized by KFHI for the fourth consecutive year since 2010.

CN Blue last year opened CN Blue School in Burkina Faso in Africa for African children who could not go to school due to poverty.

Supported by a portion of the group's touring profits and album royalties, the school offers a pre-school and after school classes and nutritious food for the kids.

Lee Jung-shin, a CN Blue member, said, “I was greatly encouraged to see the kids taking food and attending classes in CN Blue school in a photo taken in front of the school signboard ‘CN Blue School’.” Leader Jung Young-hwa said, “If possible I want to visit the school someday and cry for ‘Oetori’, a kid I know.”

CN Blue is now under tour titled “2013 World Tour-Blue Moon”. They plans to donate a portion of the tour proceeds for building the No.2 CN Blue School and to launch a donation compaign for the school.

The group will perform at Hong Kong Asia World Expo Arena on May 10 and 11. [Yonhap]
