  • Eru Proves Most Popular on Indonesian Music Program
  • [2013-07-17]

  •  Singer Eru (real name, Cho Sung-hyun, 30), who is at the forefront of a hallyu ballad boom in Indonesia, has proven his popularity on an Indonesian music program.

As Eru Entertainment, Eru’s agency, revealed on July 14, “Eru was awarded the top singing honor ‘Top Song of the Day’ with his duet song ‘I love you’, which he sang with Indonesian singer and comedian Sule, on the Indonesian MNC TV’s live music program ‘Top Pop’ on July 10”.

Fans cheered and congratulated Eru when ‘I love you’ was named as top song, according to the agency. The song was released in Indonesia with a Korean title and with lyrics in Korean, Indonesian and English, allowing fans from various countries to enjoy the song.

After his song was selected as the top song, Eru said, “I can’t believe my song topped the list in a country so far away from Korea. I will visit Indonesia many times and work hard to reward fans’ support.”

The agency quoted a music-related official in Indonesia as saying, “It is very rare for a foreign singer to top the list in Indonesia. Eru’s popularity is expected to ascend rapidly.”

Eru held a live concert at Lapangan D Senayan on April 20. At fans’ request, he flew to Indonesia on July 3 to engage in various promotion activities.
