  • Jo Kwon Selected as MC of Music Request Show ‘A Song For You’

  •  Jo Kwon of 2AM has been appointed as MC for KBS 2TV’s “Global Request Show: A Song For You”.

     
    According to KBS, the program will feature Jo Kwon and guest who together will pick a song and sing live requests posted by viewers on the program homepage.
     
    The program was incorporated into the official schedule after being broadcast on KBS World and You-Tube in February, when it was hosted by 2PM and went under the title of “A Song For You from 2PM”.
     
    In the previous program, many people from some 140 countries including Japan, U.S. European and Southeastern countries, sent in requests.
     
    The number of hits on the program reached 1.5 million.
     
    Staff on the production team said, “It is the first time that a new media program on a global channel and You Tube has been transferred to terrestrial TV.”
     
     
     During the first broadcast slated on Aug. 23, group Exo, who gained popularity for new hit “Growl” will sing a request “Open Arms”.   
     
    Leader Soo-ho was delighted, saying “We are glad at the unexpectedly hot response from fans around the world.”  Chinese members Lay and Tao expressed their desire to learn Korean, saying that they were challenged by a Chinese student who spoke perfect Korean.   
     
    The program airs 6:10 p.m. on Fridays. Music Bank, a music program being broadcast in the same time slot, will air at 6:30 p.m.
