  • YG CEO Says Huge World Stars Participate in PSY's New Album
  • [2013-09-02]

  • Famous world stars will be participating in PSY's new album.

Yang Hyun-suk, head producer and CEO of YG Entertainment met with the press after the finale of G-Dragon's World Tour "One of a Kind" at the Olympic Gymnasium in Seoul and hinted at PSY's latest album.

He said, "World stars that everyone knows by name have participated in PSY's latest album. Some of them were unimaginable for not only PSY but for everyone," heightening anticipation for his new release.

Because PSY included Korean lyrics in both Gangnam Style and the follow up Gentleman, attention is being given to the language that will be used in his new album.

YG's CEO Yang said he didn't know at the moment but carefully added, "Even the U.S. staff do not feel the need to only use English and we haven't decided if the new album will be a single or studio album."

PSY is currently in the U.S. working on the new album.

During the press conference, Yang picked Gentleman as well as newcomer girl group Crayon Pop's Bababa as the biggest hits of the first half of this year.

He said, "Gentleman reached #1 on music portal Melon 79 times, which is a feat that cannot be repeated," adding that its something only PSY is capable of. He also said, "Other than Gentleman, the biggest hit was Bababa. Even my kid knows about Crayon Pop".

Yang added, "People aren't interested about which song is at number one these days. What's important is whether people know about a singer and if they have fans. Crayon Pop succeeded in that sense".
