Singer Seven`s second single entitled `Style` reached the ninth spot on the daily Japanese Oricon chart on the day of its release on May 18, an impressive feat compared to the singer`s first single, which took the 25th spot when it was released on Feb. 23. Seven was able to enter the top-10 of the Oricon chart in just three months thanks to his `solo live dance artist` style, which is unique in Japan, as well as to strenuous promotion efforts. The singer stayed in Japan for a substantial period to promote his new single and went on a nationwide tour two weeks prior to the single`s release, appearing on regional television programs. "Unlike other artists who stay mostly in Korea and visit Japan only during promotion events, Seven has dedicated his utmost efforts as a new artist to spend significant time in Japan," said a person from Seven`s agency. Seven, who has captivated the hearts of Japanese women with his charming good looks and gentle vocals, held a handshake event to coincide with his single`s release at the Tower Records in Shibuya, Tokyo, during which he shook hands with 777 people, earning still more goodwill from his Japanese fans. According to Nikkan Sports, all of the 777 CDs that were prepared for the event were sold out shortly after the event started. Seven has been appearing on many music programs for leading Japanese television channels. On May 20, he is scheduled to appear on NHK`s `Pop Jam,` and on ABS` `Music Station` on May 27. He will also launch a concert tour of seven Japanese cities, starting with Tokyo on May 22 at the NK Hall, followed by Osaka on May 23, Fukuoka on May 24, Hiroshima on May 25, Nagoya on May 26, Sapporo on May 30 and Sendai on June 1. |
