Actor Jang Dong-geon`s agency reported on July 22 that it had signed a contract on July 1 with the Japanese talent management agency Amuse, which will manage Jang in Japan. The deal is aimed at laying a foundation for Jang`s acting and systematic management in Japan prior to the opening of his latest movies `The Promise` and `Typhoon,` and promoting him as an actor in Asia and around the world. Jang became the first Korean star to sign a contract with a Japanese talent management agency. The day the contract was signed, Amuse formed the International Management Division to manage overseas celebrities and expressed active support for Jang`s career in Japan. The actor will debut in Japan in the spring of next year after `Typhoon` opens in Korea this coming December and `The Promise` opens in Japan next year. `The Promise` was directed by Chen Kaige. |
