Jang Woo-hyuk, former member of the music group H.O.T., is set to debut as a solo artist. The news about his debut has drawn significant attention in music circles as Jang is the last in the group to go solo. All the other members -- Kang Ta, Moon Hee-jun, Tony Ahn and Lee Jae-won -- have already established themselves as solo singers in various music genres, including ballads, rock, and dance. Jang`s agency, Sponge Entertainment, said Jang`s solo album, which the singer produced himself, features elements of hip-hop and dance. It also added that Jang is poised to shed his previous image of a performer in an idol group and emerge as a prominent dancer and musician. An hour-and-a-half program about Jang`s preparations for a comeback as a solo artist will be shown daily for 10 days starting from Aug. 29 on the music channel KMTV. On Sept. 8, he will appear on the KMTV show `D-Day` to introduce his debut album, which will be released on that same day. ` |
