  • [NEW DRAMA 'School 2013'] Biographies of Realistic High School Teachers
  • [2012-11-22]
  • KBS 2TV’s new Monday/Tuesday drama “School 2013” is gaining attention for its powerful line-up of actors, including Jang Na-ra, Choi Daniel, Park Hae-mi, Lee Han-wi, Yoon Ju-sang, Eum Hyo-sok and Oh Young-sil, who will play individualistic teachers.

The key figure among the Seungri High School teachers is Jong In-jae (played by Jang Na-ra) who is in charge of Juniors in class two. Nicknamed ‘Jongssaem’, she became a homeroom teacher on impulse and is now faced with the biggest crisis in her life. She is playing a character who has a delicate appearance but is very tenacious and blunt, leading a turbulent school life with her students.

Kang Se-chan (played by Choi Daniel), a bachelor, is the top-class “star lecturer” and has a new capitalism-oriented belief that “students are money”. He is co-homeroom teacher with Jang Na-ra, with whom he argues about everything. He is a typical teacher of the contemporary period and will capture the hearts both the students and parents with his refined charisma.

The female principal of Seungri High School, Im Jong-soo (played by Park Hae-mi), and the vice principal, Woo Su-chol (played by Lee Han-wi), will drive the viewers into burst of laughter with their comic acts. Im Jong-soo, the principal, has a dignified manner and stands firm amid any accidents and Woo Su-chol, the vice principal, is extremely timid and his words always end with “Yo?” and so gets the nickname “Yo Su-chol”.

Gym teacher Jo Bong-soo (played by Yoon Joo-sang), nicknamed “Joroobang” as he looks like “Dolharoobang”, the guardian god of Jeju Island, is the mental leader in the high school who implants dreams into the hearts of the students.

Eum Dae-woong (played by Eum Hyo-sok) is a strict teacher nicknamed “Eum force”, who engulfs the students in fear with the sharp look in his eyes.

You Nan-hee (played by Oh Young-sil) is a nasty ethics teacher nicknamed “Ye Anio (yes no)” as she makes the students answer with only “Ye” or “Anio”. All the characters will give the drama boost.

The drama features seven realistic high school teacher characters with unique personalities and will keep viewers completely enthralled.

A member of the production team said, “In the previous school series, the focus was placed on students, but in ‘School 2013’, teachers with enchanting characters will be highlighted so to express the real situations in and around schools.”

The KBS youth drama “School 2013” will begin at 10 pm on Dec. 3, following ‘Ohlala Couple’.
